LIFE IS SACRIFICE

"Sacrifice is a part of life. It's supposed to be. It's not something to regret. It's something to aspire to", says Mitch Albom, an American author. One of the meanings of the word sacrifice is the 'act of giving of something especially for the sake of someone or something else'. Our life is a great gift given to us by our creator. We are the caretakers of this beautiful gift. We have to safeguard it well and produce fruitful results. 

Life and Sacrifice

We can say that life and sacrifice are the two sides of the same coin.Both are related to each other. Without a sacrifice life is meaningless and without life sacrifice is also meaningless. Sacrifice adds colour to our life.

Everyone of us is very much excited about uplifting our standards of life. As our quality of life improves our mental horizon should also develop. When we are broad -minded we may not be worried about the minor things that happen in our life. When we grow in our personal life as well as in our social life we may come across places where we have to sacrifice something or other. If we avoid those sacrifices in order to  preserve our own interests, things may go wrong later in our life. All of a sudden we may not feel anything. We may not understand the real value of sacrifice in our life. At any of the crossroads we can feel that our life has come till now as a result of the sacrifices made by our dear and near ones. Our life will be a sum total of their perspiration and hard work.

Sacrifice in Personal Life

A person lives according to his own ideology. He may have his own likes and dislikes. After successfully climbing up the steps of his initial stages of life, he is progressing in his life journey. As he is surrounded by his dear and near ones, he may be quite confused of his personal choices. After the elementary education when time comes for selecting a career, he may be puzzled in his choices. Sometimes, he is forced to sacrifice his own personal choice and opt for another one. He may have to sacrifice the company of his peer groups and may be carried away from his comfort zone.

Sacrifice in Professional Life

Acquiring a desired profession is everyone's dream. When we get a job according to our own tastes and preferences it will do a lot in our career. Nowadays, the youngsters has many desired goals and objectives. Suppose, due to the pressure of the circumstances they have opted for a wrong career and then it will gradually damage their perspectives and goals. There may be chances like certain familial reasons in which they have to sacrifice their career for the sake of the family. Most often, the women are forced to leave their dream jobs in order to nurture their children.

Sacrifice in Family Life

Sacrifices can be best seen in the family. Because families are made up of mutual co-operation and support. It is the place of sharing and growing. When a family is being set up the husband and wife should be ready to give up their own interests and ideologies for the sake of their family. If both the couple stand as two poles, the family life may not run smooth.  Mothers are the one word for sacrifice. When a woman becomes a mother she has started of the long sequences of sacrifices in her life. Compared to the fathers, the mothers have a significant role in the sacrifices that are being made in a family.

Our life is a precious gift we have received so far. We have to preserve it well. Our life is also a 'give and take process'. Unless we give we cannot take anything. We all are interested in the 'taking' side of the process. We have to make our life a 'giving one'. Sacrifices will not be a loss for us then. Later we will realise the importance of our sacrifices.
